Windom hosts first Knowledge Bowl meet of season

Knowledge Bowl is back to normal in 2022 with in-person, rather than virtual, meets, and the first of the senior high season happened Monday evening at Windom Area Middle School.

Jackson County Central 1 took the opening meet of the season, racking up 60 points in three oral rounds of competition. Each round consists of 45 questions.

JCC 1, which collected an extra 3 strength of scoring points for competing in the top room the final two rounds, coasted to the win over runners-up Adrian 1 and JCC 2, which both finished with 41 points. Springfield was fourth with 39.5 points and Mt. Lake 1 finished fifth with 38.5 points.

Windom had one team in the seven school, 15-team meet. The quartet of Faith Ford, Kaylan Donchez, Sonia Lopez and Elisabeth Ngisa finished 14th with 16 points. The team scored 3, 10 and 11 points in each of the three rounds.
