Eagle girls rally for win

The Windom Area girls hockey team broke a 2-2 tie early in the final period and went on to claim a 4-2 victory over Worthington Thursday at the Windom Arena.

The Eagles held a 1-0 lead early behind a goal from Toria Robillard.

The game went back and forth in the second period. Worthington tied the game 1-1 before Elly Bang netted a goal for a 2-1 Eagle lead. The Trojans answered with a goal with 3:06 left in the period.

But the third period belonged to the Eagles, who outshot the Trojans 18-5 down the stretch. Presley Dockter scored an unassisted power play goal 4:22 into the final period for a 3-2 lead.

Dockter then intercepted a pass and scored a shorthanded breakaway goal with 1:45 to go in regulation, icing the victory for the Eagles.

Windom Area outshot Worthington 30-16 in the game. Fiona Robillard picked up her second straight win in net, stopping 14 shots.
