BEA 38-37 = 75
Windom 25-39 = 64
A furious second-half rally ran out of steam for the Windom boys basketball team Tuesday night, as Blue Earth Area pulled away late for a 75-64 victory at Windom.
BEA raced to a 13-point halftime lead, but the Eagles battled back in the second half, eventually cutting the deficit to two points. But the Bucs finished the game strong, hitting a three-pointer to regain a five-point lead and eventually slamming the door on the Eagles’ comeback bid.
Henry Erickson paced the Eagles with 21 points. Abe McKibbin scored 17 and Josh Garrison added 10 in the loss.
WWG at HLOF, suspended
Westbrook-Walnut Grove’s game against Heron Lake-Okabena-Fulda ended up being suspended with just under two minutes to go in the first half, after one of the officials in the game had a medical emergency.
WWG Coach Derrick Jenniges noted the emergency was not cardiac-related and the official will make a full recovery.Â
