Windom Snow Emergency officially begins at midnight tonight

Today, the Windom Snow Emergency announcement went from “likely” to “official”– the Windom Snow Emergency begins shortly after 11:59 p.m. tonight and runs until noon on Saturday.

When the Snow Emergency begins, vehicles left in city public parking lots, streets and alleys will be ticketed and may be towed beginning at 12:01 a.m. until noon that same day. Snow removal begins sometime after midnight.

In addition, under a Snow Emergency, vehicles must remain off city parking lots, streets and alleys until non, or until they are completely plowed of snow. Once they are completely plowed, you may again park on the street.

There are designated parking lots where city residents can park their vehicles during a snow emergency. One such option is the lot near downtown, adjacent to Expressway. For additional parking lot options, check the map that runs with this story (city-approved options are in red).
