Early reports show a chance for significant snow in the Windom area starting tonight, which means Windom’s Snow Emergency may take effect this afternoon or evening.
When a Snow Emergency is announced, vehicles left in city public parking lots, streets and alleys will be ticketed and may be towed beginning at 12:01 a.m. until noon that same day. Snow removal begins sometime after 1 a.m.
In addition, under a Snow Emergency, vehicles must remain off city parking lots (except for designated lots such as the one next to Expressway downtown), streets and alleys until noon, or until they are completely plowed of snow. Once they are completely plowed, you may again park on the street.
