Windom Eagles Robotics to host tournament Saturday

Robots return to the Windom Area Middle High School Blue Gym Saturday when the Windom Eagles VEX Robotics program hosts its annual tournament.

The tournament is open to the public and admission is free.

Teams begin checking in at 7:30 a.m., with the opening ceremony starting at 9:15, followed by qualification matches at 9:30.

After a lunch break at 12:30 p.m., qualification matches resume at 1, followed by alliance selection at 3:15, elimination rounds at 3:30, and the closing and awards ceremony at 4:30 p.m.

This year’s game is “Tipping Point,” the object of which is to attain a higher score than the opposing alliance by scoring rings, moving mobile goals to alliance zones and elevating on platforms at the end of the match.

A total of 24 teams are entered in the tournament, including Windom’s five teams.
