The Minnesota Department of Public Safety announced last week that driver’s license exam stations throughout the state will be reopening in the coming weeks.
Cottonwood County Recorder Kathy Kretsch stated that she had received confirmation that the Cottonwood County testing station, which is located in Room 20 of the BARC in Windom, will be reopening on Jan. 24.
The Windom testing station will return to its past schedule of being open on Mondays from 8:45 a.m. to noon and from 12:30 to 3:45 p.m. Knowledge tests will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Mondays, while Class D skills tests will be held at other times throughout the day Monday.
All road tests and knowledge tests are done by appointment. Kretsch added that online scheduling is the easiest way to schedule those appointments, but appointments may be made by telephone at (651) 284-1000.
Additionally, the recorder’s office at the county courthouse still requires appointments for renewing driver’s licenses, obtaining permits or other services. Those appointments may be made on the county website or by calling (507) 831-1458.
