Red Rock Central raced to an early lead and held off a second-half rally Tuesday, defeating Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey 51-41 in Lamberton.
The Falcons battered the Wolverines in the lane early in the game, as senior Karli Arkell scored 11 of her game-high 19 points in the first half.
The Wolverines turned to their balance to try to mount a second-half comeback, but the Falcons were able to connect from the outside late to preserve the win.
Arkell led RRC with 19 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. Lilly Stavnes added 14 points.
Brooke Naas led MLAC with 12 points. Kate Janzen chipped in 10.
SWC 29-39 = 68
WWG 19-25 = 44
Southwest Minnesota Christian finished the game strong Tuesday night, pulling away over the final nine minutes to claim a 68-44 win over Westbrook-Walnut Grove at Westbrook.
SWC led by 10 at halftime, but WWG had trimmed the deficit to eight points with just over nine minutes to go. But SWC finished the game with a 24-6 burst, sealing the victory.
Isabel Klumper led WWG with 17 points. Abby Wiggins added 11 points in the loss.Â
