Windom Foundation matching fund to end Friday; sees $22,000 day

Yesterday was a $22,100 day for the Windom Area Foundation as folks step up to boost the Bank Midwest matching fund, which ends Friday night.

(Checks received in the mail through early next week will be counted for the match.)

A few of the gifts arriving yesterday were:
* Platinum level ($10,000 to $29,000) from Staples Oil;
* Gold level ($2,500 to $9,999) from Brent and Nicole Staples;
* Silver level ($1,000-$2,499) from Ron and Tracey Schramel, Brandon and Melissa Pletcher, Kermit and Betty Twait, and David and Marilee Strom.

Previous donors can be found in the Dec. 29 Citizen and an updated list including all of yesterday’s gifts can be found in this coming weekend’s Shopper.

To make a donation to this fund drive, go to www.windomareafoundation for mailing and simple online instructions. Donation checks can also be dropped off at Bank Midwest through Friday’s business hours, or handed to any Foundation board member through Friday. The Windom Area Foundation board includes: Ryan McNamara, Tony Scott, Justin Schmit, Rahn Larson, Dave Fischenich, Anne Foley, Mary Klosterbuer, Mike Nesseth and Peggy Pfeffer.

Although the $100,000 in matching funds, provided by Bank Midwest, end Friday night, the drive itself continues into January. The match is $3-to-$1, meaning Bank Midwest will add $1 to every $3 donated (a $300 donation becomes $400).
