Adventist program brings Christmas to LEC inmates

While many are celebrating Christmas with loved ones, others are not so fortunate — and often forgotten.

That’s where Minnesota Adventist Prison Ministries’ “Christmas Behind Bars” program hopes to fill the void.

Recently, Pastor Ken Mayberry and church member Kevin Mathias of Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Windom delivered more than two dozen packages to those incarcerated at the Cottonwood County Law Enforcement Center in Windom.

The gift packages consist of snacks with a spiritual book and information about the program. The aim of the organization, by delivering the gift packages, is to lift the spirit of inmates during the holidays when they need a touch of kindness the most.

For more on the gifts to inmates, see the story on the Faith & Family page in the Dec. 22 issue of the Cottonwood County Citizen on newsstands now.
