Windom City Council to finalize budget tonight

The Windom City Council is expected to approve a 2.98% levy increase at tonight’s regular meeting, which is the final meeting of 2021.

By comparison, in 2021, the council approved a 3.50% levy increase.

In addition to the budget and levy discussion, which has been ongoing for the past couple of months, the council is expected to discuss tax abatement for the Guardian Inn, the workforce housing development program and the hiring of a street department maintenance worker. The council is also expected to review its 2022 S.M.A.R.T. goals.

Tonight’s meeting begins at 6:30 in the Windom City Council chambers.
