Cobras, Falcons each have one medalist in Redwood

Windom-Mt. Lake finished 23rd in the team standings while Red Rock Central was 26th at the Redwood River Riot, held Friday and Saturday in Redwood Falls.

WML scored 42½ team points. RRC finished with 32 points. Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City won the team title with 162½ points.

Individually, the Cobras had just one placewinner. After dropping a first-round decision, Micah Holmberg battled all the way back to the third-place match before falling 7-3 to Ralph Roesler of New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva. That gave Holmberg fourth place at 195 pounds.

RRC also had one placewinner at the tournament. At 182 pounds, Vander Mathiowetz advanced to the quarterfinals before falling 5-2 to Tate Link of Dassel-Cokato-Litchfield. Mathiowetz then battled through the consolation round before having to take two medical forfeits to finish in sixth place.
