Buzzer-beater sinks Eagle boys

Windom 42-32 = 74
JCC 37-39 = 76

A wild second half saw numerous lead changes Friday night, but the last lead change of the game ultimately lifted Jackson County Central to a 76-74 win over the Windom Eagle boys basketball team Friday in Jackson.

JCC’s Damien Phaly hit a jumper with 2.2 seconds left on the clock, breaking a 74-74 tie to lift the Huskies to the win.

Both teams played without at least one key player in the game. Windom was without all-conference center Dylan Serreyn due to illness.

Meanwhile, the Laker defense forced 19 Charger turnovers and held WWG to 35% shooting.
