A two-vehicle accident with injuries was reported Sunday in northern Cottonwood County, on Highway 71 at the intersection with County Road 10.
According to the State Patrol, a 2016 Dodge pickup driven by Bobbie Albrecht of Westbrook was traveling southbound on Highway 71. A 2011 International semi, driven by J. Paul Mugabowindekwe of Secane, Penn., was northbound on Highway 71. The two vehicles collided on snow-covered, icy roads.
Albrecht was transported to North Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. His passenger, Amanda Albrecht of Westbrook, was transported to Windom Area Health with non-life-threatening injuries. Mugabowindekwe was not injured in the crash.
Assisting at the scene were the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Department, Springfield Police and Ambulance departments, Comfrey First Responders, Centra Care and the Jeffers and Sanborn Fire departments.
