Windom City Council to discuss closing street for Christmas event

Plans are moving forward for the annual Christmas by Candlelight event on Dec. 16 and one of the first items of business is closing a downtown street for the evening.

The Windom Area Chamber of Commerce has requested a temporary closure of Ninth Street between Third Avenue and Fourth Avenue for the event. The council is expected to discuss the request at tonight’s meeting. If approved, the closure would run from 3 to 7 p.m.
