Girls hockey falls Saturday

Windom Area 1-2-0 = 3
Minnehaha United 3-3-3 = 9

Minnehaha United scored three times in each period Saturday afternoon, surging to a 9-3 win over the Windom Area girls hockey team in St. Paul.

Windom Area had closed the deficit to 5-3 early in the second period, but United scored four unanswered goals over the last 30 minutes of the game to claim the win.

Elly Bang got the Eagles on the board in the first period off an assist from Toria Robillard. A goal from Reagan Haugen early in the second cut the deficit to 3-2, and a goal from Presley Dockter at the 4:07 mark of the second made the score 5-3.

But United scored late in the second to make the score 6-3, then tacked on three more goals in the third.

Goalie Kaylie Baerg finished with 33 saves in the loss.
