Eagle girls skate past Trojans

The Windom Area girls hockey team improved to 2-2 on the season Thursday night with a 3-1 victory at Worthington.

The Eagles scored goals in each period and held a 30-21 edge in shots on goal for the game.

Windom Area jumped to the lead with 7:03 remaining in the first period when Presley Dockter intercepted a pass and scored an unassisted goal.

Then, with 9:08 left in the second, Madyson Fredin picked off a clearing attempt by the Trojans and stuffed the puck into the net for her first goal of the season.

After the Trojans cut the deficit to 2-1 early in the third period, the Eagles iced the win when Elly Bang scored off an assist from Dockter with 5:54 to play.

Goalie Kaylie Baerg finished with 20 saves in the win.
