Eagle boys open with loss to Saints

St. Peter 37-32 = 69

The Windom Eagle boys basketball team opened its season with a rough offensive performance Thursday night, falling 69-47 at St. Peter.

The Saints’ length created problems for the Eagles, as the Saints outrebounded the Eagles 59-41 in the game. Windom was held to 27% shooting for the game.

Henry Erickson led the Eagles with 17 points. Abe McKibbin added 13 points in the loss.

RRC 13-22 = 35
Springfield 30-31 = 61

Red Rock Central got off to a sluggish start to the season Thursday, falling 61-35 at Springfield.

The Falcons couldn’t overcome 23 turnovers or a frigid 34% shooting night, as Springfield raced to a 17-point halftime lead.

Corey Arkell led the Falcons with 13 points. Joe Strock added eight points in the loss.
