Windom police are investigating Monday night’s car-pedestrian crash that resulted in an injury and a search for a red “Suburban-type” vehicle.
The crash occurred at 6:50 p.m., a half-hour after sunset, at the intersection of Highway 60-71 and 16th Street, between the Toro plant and Windom Laundromat. Linda Ebeling was crossing Highway 60, attempting to get to the east side, when she was struck by a northbound vehicle.
According to police, the Windom ambulance and fire departments were called to the scene. The extent of Ebeling’s injuries were not disclosed.
Multiple motorists reportedly stopped to offer assistance. Police say they are searching for the red vehicle, but are offering no additional information, noting that the case remains under investigation.
