It’s official: Corridor project expected to begin in 2031

The Windom City Council received a key detail about the Highway 60 Corridor Project at Tuesday’s meeting — the project starts in 2031.

Rhonda Allis, MnDOT’s district planning director, made the announcement while discussing potential plans for the project. Officials previously alluded to a project in “about 10 years.” A target date had not been set.

Details of the project, which is expected to include parts of Highways 62 and 71, remain under consideration. City officials say residents will have a chance to influence the project by attending MnDOT’s open house at the Community Center Tuesday, starting at 4 p.m. (3 p.m. for business people).
