Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey picked up its biggest win of the season to date Tuesday night, rallying from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Westbrook-Walnut Grove 3-2 in Mt. Lake.
The Wolverines took the opening set before WWG dominated set two 25-9. The Chargers won the third set 25-19 before MLAC stormed back, winning set four 25-15. The Wolverines then edged WWG 15-13 in a thrilling fifth set.
The Wolverines had a strong night at the net from Michala Morin, who finished with 17 kills. Brooke Naas added nine kills.
Naas and Hanna Peterson each went 15-of-15 serving with two aces.
Jaci Tollefson had 36 set assists and 19 digs in the win. Kaylie Baerg added a team-high 29 digs.
Abby Wiggins led WWG at the service line, going 33-of-34 with three aces. Izzy Klumper was 16-of-16 with three aces and Addeson Jenniges went 24-of-24 with two aces.
Kelsey DeSmith had a team-high 16 kills. Jenniges tallied 40 set assists. Isabella Rentschler had 35 digs.
