Crash shuts down Highway 60 for two hours

A crash involving a semi truck and a pickup resulted in Highway 60 being closed, east of Windom, for about two hours on Monday evening.

The State Patrol, Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Department,Windom Police Department, Windom EMTs and Windom firefighters were at the scene.

According to Windom Fire Chief Ben Derickson, much of the highway shutdown involved the clean-up of corn from the semi truck. The crash was reported to local dispatchers at 3:50 p.m., and firefighters cleared the scene, two miles east of Windom, at 7:30 p.m.

One of the motorists was taken by ambulance to Windom Area Health.
