Collection underway for 2021 county Coats for Kids drive

Mt. Lake area residents can begin donating winter clothing to the annual Coats for Kids drive, a project that helps families provide children with proper winter clothing.

The volunteer organization’s goal is to get good winter clothing to children who may otherwise go without.

The drive runs through Oct. 18.

There is a need for clean coats, gloves, mittens, snow pants and boots. Monetary donations to purchase items also will be accepted. Make checks payable to: Cottonwood County Collaborative.

All donated items should be clean with minimal wear and tear, as well as usable buttons and zippers.

Infant through 3XL (youth style) adult sizes are needed.

Donations can be dropped off at these locations:  Mt. Lake Public Schools, Mt. Lake Christian School, Petersen Pharmacy & Gifts, Maynard’s Grocery Store and  Mt. Lake Public Library.

In Mt. Lake, distribution is planned for Oct. 19, from 4 to 6 p.m., at Mt. Lake Elementary School. This year’s drive is first-come, first-serve.
