A rare murder case being heard in Cottonwood County will move to the next stage on Oct. 5, the omnibus hearing.
The defendant, Ralph Leslie Apmann, 57, of Windom, made his first appearance at the Cottonwood County Courthouse last week. Philip Elbert of the public defender’s office in Worthington, was appointed to represent him.
The omnibus hearing, which is set for 2:30 p.m., is the time when a defendant can challenge probable cause, search and seizure and other constitutional procedures.
