A request to do a remodeling project in the Cottonwood County Auditor/Treasurer’s office in the courthouse was approved on a 3-2 vote at Tuesday’s County Commissioners meeting.
The goal was to make the office more efficient and safe by improving traffic flow and having one main entrance.
The proposal arose from an incident with an unruly customer, which raised questions about the safety of the office.
The estimate for the project was $60,726. However, on a 3-2 vote, the board approved the project to also include window blinds, which could bring the cost of the project closer to $70,000.
