Survivor Celebration open house is Sunday

Even though there won’t be a Relay For Life in Cottonwood County in 2021, there will be a Survivor Celebration.

Carol Hartman, who for over 20 years has chaired the Survivor’s Reception at the annual Relay For Life, is holding a Survivor Celebration Open House, Sunday, Aug. 8, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the BARC Library at 1012 5th Ave., in Windom.

“Masks are strongly recommended for all indoor events, according to the latest CDC and Public Health guidelines,” Hartman says. “This is especially true for the safety of those of us with serious health concerns, including cancer. Extra masks will be available as needed.”

This one-time event is open to anyone who has ever had a cancer diagnosis, especially those who have had a first cancer diagnosis since Cottonwood County’s last Relay For Life in 2019.

For more on the event, see the story on the Faith & Family page in the Aug. 4 issue of the Cottonwood County Citizen on newsstands tomorrow.
