A two-vehicle accident Monday afternoon in Jackson County killed two people, including a Westbrook man.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, officers were called to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Jackson County Roads 29 and 34, north of Alpha.
A 2019 Peterbilt semi and bulk trailer, driven by 23-year-old Landon Bell of Bryant, S.D., was north-bound on County Road 29 and failed to yield at a stop sign. The semi collided in the intersection with a 2013 Dodge pickup, driven by 24-year-old Mitchell Jarmer of Westbrook, which was east-bound on County Road 34.
Jarmer and his passenger, 26-year-old Jacob Peterson of Dovray, were both pronounced dead at the scene. Bell was not injured in the crash.
Assisting at the scene were the Alpha Fire Department and First Responders, Jackson Ambulance, Jackson Fire Department, Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, Minnesota State Patrol and Borntrager Towing.
