Last week, the Minnesota Legislature ended its special session, and, in the aftermath, Rep. Rod Hamilton of Mt. Lake shared his views on the session.
“With the amount of compromise that must be given, there are plenty of things to like and dislike within this budget,” Hamilton said.
“One of the biggest highlights of session included the Legislature’s ending Governor Walz’s emergency powers relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. With hospitalizations and case rates reaching record lows, there was no excuse not to end the peacetime emergency and restore the legislature’s role as a co-equal branch of government.”
