A routine traffic stop of a motorcycle near Perkins Creek Apartments on June 9 turned out to be anything but routine for Cottonwood County deputies.
According to a deputy’s report, there was a signal to the driver to stop, but he refused to pull over. Instead, a rare “low-speed chase” ensued. Eventually, the motorcycle driver tried to get away by laying down the motorcycle near the Community Center and fleeing on foot. However, police arrested the 41-year-old Windom man on charges of third-degree fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle and driving after cancellation.
