For the second year in a row, the Memorial Day program, typically held at the Windom Community Center has been cancelled.
The Windom American Legion voted last month to cancel this year’s program, due to the ongoing pandemic. Although limitations on attendance at indoor events were lifted on Friday, the change was made after the Legion had already voted to cancel this year’s program.
However, Legion Commander Fred Meyer said the Legion will place a wreath at the Civil War Memorial during a brief outdoor ceremony at Lakeview Cemetery on Memorial Day at 11 a.m.
