Red Cross blood drive in Windom passes 76 unit goal

There were smiles all around for technicians with North Central Blood Services, as well as Windom Women of Today, as the American Red Cross blood drive locally surpassed its 76-unit goal.

A total of 79 units were collected from 78 presenting donors with one incomplete, eight deferrals and 10 “power reds,” or 10 donors donating a total of 20 units.

“Great day!” said Monica Muller of Windom Women of Today, which coordinates the local Red Cross blood drives. “Women of Today want to thank all donors for coming out to donate.”

To learn who reached milestones in their blood donation careers, see the story in the May 26 issue of the Cottonwood County Citizen on newsstands tomorrow.
