Catalytic converter thefts hit Windom

Shortly after 7 p.m. last Wednesday, Windom police officers were dispatched to Smith Automotive regarding the report of the theft of a catalytic converter.

It is not the first recent report of a catalytic converter theft in this community. Of course, catalytic converter thefts have been common throughout many parts of the state in 2021.

The converter was taken from a vehicle owned by a Bingham Lake customer. It is believed the catalytic converter was taken sometime from 7 p.m. on May 18 and 6 a.m. on May 19. The total loss is estimated at $1,000.
