The Windom City Council is moving ahead with a project that will yield a new turn lane and city street.
Things came together when MnDOT agreed to fund the $237,000 turn lane in return for the city’s assurance that a new city street would be built just northeast of Dollar General. Initially, it will be a gravel street with paving planned for 2024.
The street, which is expected to cost the city between $181,000 and $210,000, will run northwest off Highway 60 and handle traffic for Dollar General, Crystal Clean Car Wash and any future businesses in that area.
