The Windom Eagle baseball team broke the game open in the middle innings Friday, claiming a 9-2 victory over Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove at Island Park.
The Eagles got on the board in the bottom of the first on a Kade Sammons RBI double.
RRC/WWG tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the fourth on a Mason Irlbeck sacrifice fly.
But the Eagles scored eight runs over the next two innings to secure the win. In the bottom of the fourth, Hunter Walklin scored on an error, Alex Espenson scored on the back end of a double steal, Braydon Kreofsky hit an RBI double and Brady Espenson added an RBI single.
Then, in the fifth, Walklin hit an RBI single and scored on a wild pitch. The Eagles added two runs when Kreofsky reached on an error.
RRC/WWG got its final run in the sixth when Cory Anderson reached on an error.
Brady Espenson and Walklin had two hits each for the Eagles.
Luke Willhite and Dominik Smith each had two hits for the Falcons.
Chayton Struck took the pitching win for the Eagles, working one inning of relief. He allowed a run on two hits.
Isaac Simonson took the loss for the Falcons, allowing four runs on four hits in one inning of relief.

Madelia 410 002 11 = 9-11-3
Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey rallied from an early deficit to take the lead in the top of the seventh innings. But Madelia tied the game in the bottom of the seventh and won a walk-off in the eighth, claiming a 9-8 victory Friday in Mt. Lake.
The game had originally been scheduled to be played in Madelia. As a result, Madelia was the home team despite the game being played on the Wolverines’ home field.
MLAC fell behind 5-0 after two innings but battled back in the fourth. Ian Penner scored on an error, Landon Boldt scored on a passed ball and Kolby Kremmin smashed a two-run double.
In the top of the sixth, the Wolverines took the lead on a passed ball and a Tanner Koetzle RBI single.
Madelia regained the lead with two runs in the bottom of the sixth, but the Wolverines took the lead back in the top of the seventh, scoring twice on wild pitches.
But the Blackhawks scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh, tying the game at 8-8. And in the bottom of the eighth, a ground ball allowed the winning run to score from third.
Sebastian Rehnelt had two hits in the loss for the Wolverines.
Kremmin took the pitching loss, working one-third of an inning in relief. He allowed a run on a hit and walked two.
