The Windom Eagle baseball team got a dominant pitching performance from junior Noah Armstrong Thursday, as the Eagles claimed a 4-0 victory over Tracy-Milroy-Balaton at Island Park.

Armstrong pitched a four-hit complete-game shutout in the win, walking one and striking out nine.

The Eagle offense gave him all the support he would need in the third inning. Conner Redman drove in a run with a double and scored on a Kade Sammons sacrifice fly.

In the fifth, Brayden Kreofsky hit an RBI single and Brady Espenson plated a run with a sacrifice fly.

The Eagles were held to four hits in the win, but capitalized on seven walks issued by Panther pitchers.

Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove may have clinched the Red Rock Conference title last week, but Murray County Central served notice to the Falcons for the upcoming Section 3A playoffs Thursday, stealing a 5-4 eight-inning win at Slayton.

The Falcons took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth on a Dan Kleven RBI single, then pushed the lead to 2-0 in the fifth on an Ashton Juhnke RBI single.

After MCC cut the deficit to 2-1, the Falcons regained a two-run lead in the sixth, scoring when Sam Kleven reached on an error.

MCC tied the game in the bottom of the sixth, scoring two runs on a Falcon error.

RRC/WWG regained the lead in the top of the eighth on a Cory Anderson RBI double.

But in the bottom of the inning, MCC got a leadoff single and a walk. The Rebels loaded the bases when a sacrifice bunt attempt was misplayed by the Falcons. MCC then got a walk-off two-run double.

Juhnke led RRC/WWG with two hits in the loss.

Mason Irlbeck took the pitching loss for the Falcons, working one-plus innings of relief. He allowed two runs on two hits, walked one and struck out three.
