At Tuesday’s meeting, Cottonwood County Commissioners approved revisions to the county’s COVID guidelines, essentially removing mask requirements at county facilities for people who have received the COVID-19 vaccine.
Emergency Manager Paul Johnson said the revised guidelines follow recent updates from the Centers for Disease Control and the Minnesota Department of Health.
The board stated it would like to see signs on county offices that mask usage is strongly encouraged, even if they are not required. Additionally, social distancing will still be practiced.
County offices will still leave the plexiglas barriers up. Additionally, county offices that see the heaviest public traffic will continue to take reservations.
While there is general optimism that the worst of the COVID pandemic is in the past, Johnson stressed that the virus is still present and can still pose a threat.
