Windom Area Schools to offer summer lunch program

The end of the school year is still nearly two months away, but the Food Service Department at Windom Area Schools is already thinking about its summer food service program.

Meals will be provided to all children, without charge, throughout the summer months. The meals are the same for all children, regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.

However, grab-and-go lunches, which includes a breakfast for the following day, will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis, at two locations, 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A curbside drive-up and pick-up is available at the south entrance, or Door 3, of Windom Area Middle High School. The same is available at the south front entrance of Highland School, where food service workers will be working from a school van.

Days and dates of operation are Monday through Friday, June 14 through Aug. 27. Food service is closed on Monday, July 5.
