Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey took the lead in the fifth inning, then tacked on five insurance runs late Thursday, claiming a 7-1 win over Adrian-Ellsworth at Ellsworth.
The Dragons held a 1-0 lead in the second inning, but the Wolverines took the lead in the top of the fifth when Brooke Naas smashed a two-run home run.
MLAC added five runs in the top of the seventh to seal the win. Annika Brinkman hit an RBI double and scored when Ella Dockter reached on an error. Kayleigh Schumann hit an RBI single and Kaylie Baerg followed with a two-run double.
The Wolverines were held to five hits in the game.
Naas picked up the pitching win, working the final 5-1/3 innings in relief. She allowed two hits, walked two and struck out three.

Edgerton/Southwest Christian remained unbeaten in Red Rock Conference play Thursday, rolling to a 17-1 win over Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove at Sanborn.
The Dutchmen jumped to a commanding lead early with six runs in the top of the first inning. ESWC added two in the second, then plated nine in the top of the fourth.
The lone Falcon run came in the bottom of the third on a Nicole Schroepfer solo home run.
Schroepfer had two of the Falcons’ three hits in the game. She also took the pitching loss, allowing 17 hits and six walks while striking out two.
