Windom could see close-to-normal graduation

WAHS Principal Bryan Joyce was prepared to present at Monday’s Windom School Board meeting how the district plans to hold graduation next month.

However, with Gov. Walz’s relaxing of restrictions — and possible further relaxation on May 28 — the district is holding off on making final plans, as far as attendance.

“We do not want approval for the graduation program (at this point), we just want to understand where we’re at right now,” Wormstadt explained. “It is going to get closer and closer and closer to looking like a regular graduation, but probably with face masks.

“We continue to get information from the state.”

Wormstadt believed that by May 20 they’ll have a plan for graduation in place. Graduation is set for June 4.

“We want to have as normal a graduation as we can,” he confirmed.
