BSC Event
Windom senior Allie Ward navigated through a stiff wind for 18 holes Monday afternoon, securing her place as one of the Big South Conference’s top golfers.
Ward fired a 99, tying for medalist honors with Pipestone’s Emma Budden, at an 18-hole Big South Conference division event, played at Worthington.
The Eagle girls did not field a complete team for the meet. Worthington won the team title with a score of 429.
The girls’ field, as a whole, had a hard time with the wind as only Ward and Budden finished with scores below 103.
Lily Mellstrom added a 118 for the Eagle girls, while Maddie Alvstad shot a 126.
The Eagle boys, meanwhile, played an 18-hole BSC division event at Pipestone, finishing in a tie for third place with a score of 357. Marshall won the team title with a 337 score.
Eighth-grader Landon Pillatzki led the way for the Eagles, finishing fifth overall with a score of 82. Eli Lund added a 91, while Greyson Elder and Parker Alvstad each scored a 92.
Boys: Dragons 185, Coyotes 189, Chargers 208
Girls: Coyotes 215, Dragons 217, Chargers incomplete
The Westbrook-Walnut Grove golf teams each took third in a triangular held Monday at Fulda.
For the boys, Adrian-Ellsworth won the meet with a 185, four shots better than Heron Lake-Okabena-Fulda. WWG scored a 208.
HLOF won the girls’ meet with a 215-217 win over Adrian-Ellsworth. WWG played with an incomplete team.
For the Charger boys, Hunter Lien and Nathan Kuehl each scored a 49. Kole Curry and Neil Kuehl each shot a 55.
Lexi Herding led the WWG girls with a 54. Emma Wahl shot a 55 and Ivy Paplow had a 69.
