After multiple delays, it appears the trial will not occur for the infant murder case involving Zachariah Baker of Windom.
This morning, Baker, who was charged with second degree unintentional murder, pleaded guilty to an amended count two of second-degree manslaughter. Baker will serve 74 to 86 months in custody (with credit for his 31 months in jail).
At one time, the murder trial was set for the spring of 2020, but that was delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. More recent plans called for the trial to begin this week at the Cottonwood County Courthouse.
