The Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey baseball team announced that it is shutting down activities until Friday due to a COVID-19 exposure within the varsity program. The junior high and junior varsity teams are not affected by the exposure.
The Wolverines’ scheduled games today against Martin County West, Tuesday at Murray County Central and Thursday’s doubleheader against Edgerton/Southwest Christian are all postponed and will try to be rescheduled.
The first day the Wolverines would be able to resume action would be Friday, with a scheduled game at Cleveland. The Wolverines are scheduled to host St. James Saturday at 10 a.m. in Mt. Lake. Coach Tim Snyder stated the team is trying to reschedule its game with MCW for later in the day Saturday.
“We seem to be spiking in Cottonwood County and due to our exposure, we have to put safety first and get this under control,” Snyder stated. “If players get tested on Tuesday, they could be cleared to play by Friday. If they choose not to test, they can’t return until May 10.”
