The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency recently recognized 56 wastewater treatment plants in Southwestern Minnesota for outstanding permit compliance.
To receive this recognition, facilities were required to demonstrate consistent compliance with monitoring, operations, and maintenance requirements; submit all reports to the MPCA correctly and on time; and employ staff certified by the MPCA in wastewater operations.
The facilities recognized in Cottonwood, Jackson and Redwood counties include: Wastewater treatment plants in Okabena, Jeffers, Lakefield, Lamberton, Walnut Grove and Westbrook; as well as Highwater Ethanol LLC in Lamberton, Delft Sanitary District WWTP and Windom Wash LLC in Windom.
