The City of Windom Water Department announced that it would begin flushing fire hydrants in the city on Monday.
Hydrants will be flushed between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Flushing hydrants is a necessary part of hydrant and water main maintenance. City of Windom utility customers are advised to avoid using water when the water department is opening hydrants in their neighborhood. Water will still be safe to drink, but customers should avoid washing clothes during that time, as sediment from the pipes could stain clothing.
