Council gets ready to replace another council member

For the second time in four months, the Windom City Council will lose a city council member.

Toward the end of last week’s regular meeting, Jacquiline Schmidt announced she is moving out of the city limits and therefore must resign from the council. Assuming the city will receive Schmidt’s official letter of resignation soon, the council is likely to address the matter at Tuesday’s regular meeting.

Because Schmidt is just four months into her four-year term, the remainder of her term will be covered first by an appointment and later by a special election.

For details on the study, see the April 21 edition of the Cottonwood County Citizen and Citizen eEdition.
