Motorcycle found in ditch, but no rider

Cottonwood County authorities received a rather strange report this past weekend regarding an apparently abandoned motorcycle in a road ditch.

Deputies received a call shortly after 10 p.m. on Sunday that a motorcycle had been found in an Amboy Township road ditch a half-mile south of the intersection of 260th Street and 450th Avenue, near Sanborn. At this point, it is considered a one-vehicle accident, but there was no rider around and the motorcycle had apparently been in the ditch for quite some time.

The motorcycle is described as a 2003 Yamaha motorcycle. The motorcycle was delivered by Windom Towing to the Windom impound lot. The matter remains under investigation.
