MSHSL, MDH loosen mask requirements for spring sports

The Minnesota State High School League announced Thursday that, effective immediately, masks will no longer be required for participants in outdoor sports while they are competing.

The change comes following updated guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health.

The MSHSL stated that masks requirements are still in place when not in competition — for example, when players are in a dugout — or when social distancing is not possible. Mask usage will continue to be required for coaches.
