Rep. Hamilton frustrated with workforce legislation

Rep. Rod Hamilton of Mt. Lake says he is disappointed with priorities of a bill funding workforce and labor priorities over two years.

“The biggest thing the Legislature could do for business owners around the state wouldn’t cost taxpayers a dime,” Hamilton said. “If we allowed all businesses to safely and fully reopen, which would allow them to rehire more unemployed workers, we would solve two problems and our economy would flourish. Unfortunately, the legislation ignores this issue.

“There is nothing directly in the proposal to assist restaurants, bars, event centers, or hotels recover from the pandemic.”
