Windom traffic could see a few blockages in various parts of town today, due to a few adjustments to manholes.
The one-day effort began around 7:30 a.m. this morning at the intersection of 10th Street and Third Avenue, on the northeast corner of the Square. At each site, crews are digging into the street and lowering the manholes to make them more level with the top of the pavement. That makes them less likely to get struck by snowplows, one crew worker said this morning.
The crew expects to spend about one hour at each of the four locations they expect to work on today. One of the sites is near Windom Area Middle High School and the other two are at the edge of town (specific locations were not provided). These projects tend to block off most of the street. Motorists are advised to use caution in work areas and possibly look for different routes.
