Eagle golfers open with losses at Redwood

Cardinals 169, Eagle boys 176
Cardinals 203, Eagle girls incomplete

Cool, wet conditions didn’t keep the Windom Eagle golf teams from opening the season Thursday afternoon, but the Eagles were swept by Redwood Valley at the Redwood Falls Golf Club.

The Eagle boys dropped a 169-176 decision to the Cardinals. Redwood’s girls shot a 203 against an incomplete Eagle girls team.

For the Eagle boys, eighth-graders Landon Pillatzki and Carter Rossow led the way, shooting a 42 and a 44, respectively. Senior Parker Alvstad and freshman Eli Lund each shot a 45.

For the Eagle girls, senior Lily Mellstrom finished with a 53. Senior Allie Ward added a 54. Freshman Maddie Alvstad finished with a 91.
